The "Health Blessing" Hanging Scroll (Cinnabar Calligraphy) is a Taoist health-preserving instrument written in cinnabar ink. The word "Health" is handwritten by Master Gao Gong on the ancient bamboo pulp yellow paper in southern Anhui, inheriting the secret medical teachings of the Yellow Emperor's Canon of Internal Medicine. Yellow Paper Base:
The ancient bamboo pulp paper is made through the nine-steaming and nine-drying process. The color is like warm jade. The first stroke of the character "健" is like a blue dragon soaring into the sky, which symbolizes the rise of life energy; the last stroke contains the strong energy of the character "建", which is like a rock guarding and consolidating the kidney essence.
The top of the character "康" is like a canopy, which protects the character "水", which is in line with the principle of "kidney water nourishment"; the last vertical stroke runs through the heaven and earth, which stimulates the vitality of the earth veins and helps the blood circulation.
Taoist inheritance and rituals
This talisman originated from "Huangdi Neijing·Lingshu·Shouyao Gangrou Pian", and the master needs to choose an auspicious day of "vitality" and "heavenly doctor" to write it. When hanging it, face south and recite: "The sky is clear and the earth is peaceful, the hundred meridians are harmonized, the evil wind retreats, and the life span is always there." New talismans are replaced on the beginning of spring every year, and the old talismans are rolled into bamboo tubes and burned in pottery furnaces. The remaining ashes are mixed with glutinous rice and scattered under the plum tree in the courtyard, which symbolizes "disease turns into mud to protect flowers." Avoid placing in damp and dirty places to avoid damaging the health-preserving aura; pregnant women should use with caution, as excessive qi may disturb the fetus.
